Caddy Program

Great Oaks Country Club is proud to offer an excellent work experience to young men and women ages 13 and up.  Caddies at Great Oaks country club can expect to receive valuable training and experience in an environment where they are expected to act as adults at all times.  In addition, they will be able to surround themselves in the world of golf, which is a perfect setting for those looking to further their game, or even for those that are just getting started.

Training-Our training program consists of 4-5 on course lessons taught by the golf staff and our most experienced caddies.  Each class will last appx 2 hours, and the entire course will take about 2 weeks, depending on weather and the availability of the golf course.  Applicants are expected to have the available time to be able to make each class, which will take place on weekday and weekend afternoons, most times starting after 4 pm.  IF YOU CANNOT COMMIT TO THE TRAINING PROGRAM, DO NOT APPLY.

Work-Once training is completed and applicants pass a written test based on what was taught during the lessons, they are eligible to caddy at Great Oaks.  Our main work days are going to be Saturday and Sunday mornings from early May until mid-October.  Once school gets out for the summer, there are ample opportunities to work on the weekdays as well.  We ask that caddies generally show up for work between 6:30 am-8:00 am on weekends, weekday times will vary.  If this sounds like a schedule that you are not will to commit to, please do not apply.

Great Oaks Country Club is also an active contributor to the Western Golf Association and the Evans Scholar Foundations, both of which are huge contributors to the caddy program.  For more information, including the process of applying for the Evans Scholarship, please see the links below.

HOW TO APPLY!! (registration begins March 1st)

The application process is very simple.  We accept all applicants over the age of 13, prior golf knowledge is not required.  The first 50 applications that we receive will be guaranteed a spot in the 2012 caddy class.  After that, a 10 person wait list will be formed in case anyone changes their mind.  To apply, please send your name, age and contact number, preferable of one of the parents, to greatoakscaddyprogram@gmail.com  Once you receive confirmation that you have been registered, we will be in contact with you about orientation.  This most likely will not take place until early-mid april.

Currently our 2012 caddy program is full, but there is still room on the wait list.  The wait list DOES NOT guarantee that you will get into the program this year though.
