The Club endeavors to provide a balanced social atmosphere where members and guests can sustain social relationships and make new acquaintances. The primary goal of the Club's management is to provide exemplary service to the membership while operating within the guidelines of financial responsibility. The Club strives to be a concerned, participating citizen of its surrounding community.
The graceful trees and rolling hills of Great Oaks Country Club were once a Black Angus cattle farm owned by Howard McGregor, owner of National Twist Drill. Mr. McGregor sold the land and his mansion to Joseph Slavik in 1968, and plans were begun to develop the country club we are today. The club opened in 1971.
Howard McGregor's mansion served as the Clubhouse until 1986, when the current 43,000 square foot facility was built adjacent to the existing athletic building.
To provide our members with long term enjoyment and continued membership growth, major course improvements were completed in spring 2006. Updates and additions to the facilities continue, as we strive to maintain our standing as Rochester's most desirable and promising family-oriented private golf and social club. |
